Title: The Song Exchange (Hanukah version)
Prompt: The Chanukah Song
Fandom: Original
Characters: Bernd, Minky(Mishka), mention of Amber
Word count: 454
Rating: G
Summary: Bernd sends Minky some Hanukah music…
Author’s notes: Thanks go out to my beta, Kat, for pinking this for me. Please also note that Amber and Minky belong to her.
Author’s notes 2: “The Chanukah Song” was written by Adam Sandler, Ian Maxtone-Graham, and Lewis Morton and recorded by Adam Sandler.
Mishka was on her break at work, when she decided to check her emails. She got out her phone and looked through them, spotting one from Bernd. She groaned. Emails from her girlfriend’s husband were never a good thing, but curiosity got the better of her. She had to admit that video of corgi butts was kind of cute. Mishka opened it, noting the large attachment.
Hey Minky!!
Look what I found!! A bunch of new Hanukah songs for your iPod!! :D
I hope you like them!! I can’t believe how many are out there!! And I found part 4 of Adam Sandler’s Hanukah song!! :D (and the rest, since they’re so awesome!)
Catch you later!!
Luv Bernd
Mishka covered her face with her hand. First Hanukah sweaters and sushi menorahs… Then the blow-up dreidl bears and the call to Ima… She sighed. And now this… She shook her head as she wondered what songs he found online. As tempted as she was to open the attachment, Mishka thought better of it. She clicked reply on the email and began to type.
Hey Bernd,
I can’t listen to these now, but how about we listen to them when I get home? I’m running out of room on my iPod with all the music you keep sending me, so I’m only going to put a chunk of it on there. I’ll definitely keep these on my laptop so I can swap them out when I get tired of the ones on there.
Love Minky
Mishka was about to hit send, when she decided to do a quick Google for the Christmas song one of her friends at work was talking about. She grinned as she had a feeling this was one song, even Bernd didn’t know about, let alone searched the ‘net for. She clicked on “share” and copied the URL YouTube nicely provided. She closed the tab and went back to her email reply to Bernd.
PS: I found one for you too. It’s a Christmas song. My friend at work mentioned it and said it was good. I hope you like it. https://youtu.be/6V5mtUff6ik
And because I couldn’t resist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxomWFi3qZc
Mishka hit send. She finished her cup of coffee and went back to work, humming “The Hanukah Song.” Thanks to the holidays her work load was light so she had time to wonder if he liked the songs she had found for him. Then it hit her. If he did like them, Bernd would quickly convert them to mp3s and they would be added to the endless barrage of holiday music he liked to play. She groaned softly and made a mental note to ask Amber to talk to him about it.
