“Here, I thought you might like a little ‘me time’,” Bernd said as he handed his wife a DVD. “I’ll get the kids from school.”
“Okay, who are you and what have you done with Bernd?” Greta teased.
“Thanks,” Amber chuckled. She looked at the DVD. “A Cadaver Christmas?”
“Okay, it’s an early Christmas present, but I figured you could use it now. If you decide to wait until Minky gets home from work-”
“Watch downstairs,” Amber finished. “It’s not really her kind of movie.” Or yours… “I’m sure she won’t mind if she misses it.”
“Okay,” Bernd said. “You girls want any popcorn?”
“Always!” Greta grinned. She got up to pop the DVD into the player.
“Okay, one big bowl of popcorn coming up!” Bernd left to go make it. He returned a few minutes later with the popcorn. “Have fun!” He handed the popcorn to Amber and turned to go.
“Sure you won’t join us?” Greta said as she sat down next to Amber.
“There’s plenty of room for one more,” Amber said; although, she knew he would never in a million years watch a horror movie, unless he was sure there was some female nudity in it.
“Nope!”
They giggled as he fled the room. Munching on a handful of popcorn, Amber pushed play as she settled back to enjoy the movie. It may have been an early Christmas present, but this was turning out to be one of her favorites.
