Wolfgang stood there, watering the garden. He shook his head as he sent the spray from the hose from one side of the flower beds to the other. In the middle of the daisies was a small sign done in his eldest child’s scrawling print, which read “Mutti’s Country Garden” in misspelt German. Bernd had insisted on the garden as “Mutti loved flowers and veggies” and Wolfgang couldn’t deny the five year old’s effort to honor his deceased mother. Bernd did his best to help with weeding and pest control, even though he would rather play with his baby brother Didi, not that Wolfgang minded as that in its own way was a big help.
